What does P0446 mean?
The DTC P0446 (Evaporative Emission Control System Vent Control Circuit) is a fault code stored by the ECU when it detects a EVAP vent valve condition in the evap subsystem. It is commonly seen on European and Asian vehicles using Bosch, Continental, Siemens or Denso ECUs.
Common causes of P0446
- Failed canister vent valve (CVV)
- Wiring fault
- Spider infestation (real — they love CVV)
- Mud/debris blockage
